Funny that, I am just reading it as well. My wife polished off the whole series in about a week and has been asking and asking for me to read it. It is an easy and light read. Not mind blowing, and not really my kind of book, but a pleasant enough way to spend the odd ten minutes or so.

Sounds like me lol, I'm on my second round of reading those books, on the third book now...

I read 3-4 novels a month. I read Never Let Me Go last year. THe author is Japanese, I forgot the name, but I haven't stopped thinking about it. Without giving anyting away, it's a little science-fictiony (I made my own word!) but it's really good. Also anything by David Sedaris cracks me up.

Yeah I have that too & the biography by Randy Taraborrelli. I have also read his bios on Madonna & Frank Sinatra. If anyone here likes bios they will love his books.
I love reading & while I prefer bios I like some fiction too. My favorite authors are Sidney Sheldon & John Grisham. In regards bios my favorites include Bob Geldofs Is that it, Barack Obamas Dreams of my father & Richard Bransons Loosing my virginity.

Right now I'm reading Memoirs Of A Rebel Journalist: The Autobiography Of Wilfred Burchett by Wilfred Burchett. According to the blurb on the back cover, Wilfred Burchett (1911 - 1983) was one of Australia's most important and controversial journalists. He was a war correspondent, having covered the Korean and Vietnam wars, among other things, from the North Korean and Viet Cong sides. As a result, he was labeled a Communist and a KGB agent by his enemies during the 1950s - 1970s. Very, very interesting read and a great glimpse of modern history through the eyes of a journalist in the thick of the action. Very Happy

I recently read "Tearing down the wall of sound" by Mick Brown - it's the 'Phil Spector story' up until the end of his first court case. There's probably a new edition in the works. It's a great and chilling read - seems the man has been intimidating and pulling guns on people for years. There's a great story from the 70's when he was producing a Leonard Cohen album: he grabbed Leonard, jammed a gun into his neck and said "I love you, Leonard!". Leonard gently moved the gun away and replied 'I hope you do, Phil...' A weird guy.

I've read quite a few books over the summer. Two of my faves were by the same author, Elin Hilderbrand. One was called Barefoot and the other was called A Summer Affair. Now I'm looking for one by her called Castaways. Walmart had it....now they don't. Ugh.

Currently reading The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. Interesting so far.

At the moment I'm reading (for the second time) High Society by Ben Elton - it's about the drugs culture in Britain from the perspectives of different people involved on it (everything from recreational users to MPs to traffickers). It's funny, but very dark and brutally frank. Definitely thought-provoking.

Just finished 'Razor's Edge: the unofficial history of the Falklands war' by Hugh Bicheno. I picked it up out of curiousity - I remember the war, but I was 11 at the time, so I had no real idea what it was all about.
Very enlightening book on the subject. The author is a Cuban born British-American military historian, whose wife is Anglo-Argentinian. He worked in the British embassy in Buenos Aires during the 70s, so he knows his subject. He really pulls no punches for either side.
